FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has optical part and supporting member manufactured as unclosed ring. The supporting member has protrusion for fastening the optical part. Disc-shaped optical part has groove in end part congruent to the protrusion on the supporting member. Method involves making small cataract-type incision, anterior lens capsulotomy, implanting the supporting member in folded state in a way that the protrusion made opposite to ring discontinuity, is placed in 6 o'clock position. Then nucleus and cortical masses of the eye lens are removed and the optical part is implanted and fixed on the supporting member protrusion with congruent groove on its end face.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in making additional ametropia correction in postoperative period; reduced risk of traumatic complications.
