FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for assay of antiradical activity of substances by their ability to interact with radicals OH. Determination of value of constant rate reaction of substance with radicals OH (kOH) is carried out under conditions of γ-irradiation using p-nitrosodimethylaniline an aqueous solution as a comparison standard. Substances with value kOH above (4-5) x 109 l/mole x s are selected. Then ratios of equal-damaging doses are determined successively at γ-irradiation of trypsin, DNA and erythrocytes in the presence of selected substance and without it and antiradical activity of analyzed substance is evaluated by comparative analysis. Invention provides carrying out the quantitative evaluation of antiradical activity of biologically active substances (BAS), to compare antiradical and antioxidant effects of BAS and to make reliable conclusions about properties of BAS.
