FIELD: treatment of titanium ferric materials for concentration of titanium-containing slag and extraction of iron-containing product.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes mixing ground titanium ferric materials and carbon-containing materials, loading this mixture into furnace, preheating and treatment with flue gases at temperature of 1500-1700 C followed by unloading and cooling at separation of metal and slag and evacuation of flue gases. Water glass in the amount of 3-5 mass-% of mass of mixture is fed at mixing stage and briquettes are formed under pressure of 40-60 Mpa at volume of 5-10 cu.cm; they are preliminarily heated at temperature of 800-1000 C, after which they are fed for heating and heat treatment. Preliminary heating is effected by means of waste gases obtained at preheating and heat treatment stages. Device proposed for realization of this method includes unit for forming the briquettes, unit for preliminary cooling of briquettes and furnace for heat treatment. Furnace has loading, preheating, heat treatment and unloading sections divided by means of partitions; furnace is provided with burners. Device for preliminary heating of briquettes is made in form of shaft provided with ports on both sides for delivery of flue gases.
EFFECT: increased extraction of iron from hardly reducible titanium ferric materials; reduced consumption of fuel.
