FIELD: reduction of metal oxides in shaft furnace having upper and lower shafts.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of producing hot gas fed upwards at performing burning reaction of solid fuel and air in lower shaft; realizing in furnace reaction of charge containing metal oxide such as iron ore or agglomerates and carbon-containing reducing agent for producing main melt metal, secondary metal and secondary metal oxide, gas containing carbon monoxide and providing heat supply to charge due to burning reaction in upper shaft; controlling temperature of exhaust gas produced during such reaction in order to prevent condensation of secondary metal and secondary metal oxide in such a way that to remain it exhaust gas in the form of vapor for further separation of it from gas. In order to increase concentration of extracted metals and metal oxides, recirculation of separated secondary metal and secondary metal oxide is performed for using them in reaction process at further loading of charge.
EFFECT: increased concentration of extracted metals.
