FIELD: radio detection and ranging, applicable for adjustment of radar antennas.
SUBSTANCE: the method consists in sending of an outgoing pulse and reception of a reply pulse at scanning of the beam of the antenna being adjusted in elevation and azimuth and at a definite distance from the antenna being adjusted in its dead Zone; and auxiliary antenna operating as a transponder is positioned, an outgoing pulse of the antenna being adjusted is transmitted to the auxiliary antenna, which re-radiates a reply pulse to the antenna under adjustment with a definite time delay relative to the time of reception of the outgoing pulse, this antenna to its arrival is changed over to reception, the angular co-ordinates of the electric axis of the antenna being adjusted are determined; during transmission and reception of the pulses the beam of the antenna being adjusted is canned in elevation and azimuth relative to the direction to the auxiliary antenna.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of adjustment due to reduced interference produced by reflected signals.
