FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; special-purpose electrical metallurgy; repair and restoration of rolls.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes bearing column on which two carriages are mounted which are provided with individual drives; device is also provided with upper and lower bearing centers in which roll to be faced is placed in vertical position. Fixed crystallizer located on platform coaxially with upper and lower centers is movable in horizontal and angular directions at preliminary adjustment by means of gage. Carriage with self-contained drive running on rails under said platform is used for receiving and removing the roll to be faced. Carriage is provided with split support with centering split ring. Power supply source is connected with current lead found on upper carriage and with crystallizer. Thermal insulation of faced layer is effected with the aid of corrugated shield secured between fixed crystallizer and seeding ring moving together with faced roll.
EFFECT: improved quality of faced layer due to stabilization of facing process.
