METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING ATOPIC DERMATITIS SEVERITY DEGREE IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2239837 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves taking samples from injured skin area by washing out superficial lipid film from the injured area, selecting neutral lipids by extracting chloroform-methanol mixture as follows. 1 ml of methanol is added to the sample and it is hold 10 min long. Then, 2ml of chloroform is added, the mixture is hold 10 min long and centrifuged 10 min long at 3000 rpm. 2.5 ml of supernatant is collected and 1/5 of 50 mM CaCl solution volume is added. It is centrifuged in 15 min 5 min long at 1500 rpm. Lower phase is evaporated on water bath until lipid drop is formed. Phospholipids, cholesterol, fatty acids, triacylglycerides, cholesterol esters presence is determined. Phospholipids being detected in the amount of 7.54-10.2%, cholesterol - 18.51-20.38%, fatty acids - 10.53-12.07%, triacylglycerides - 17.11-18.29%, cholesterol esters - 34.84-42.76%, mild severity degree is diagnosed. Phospholipids being detected in the amount of 15.69-18.91, cholesterol - 27.69-34.86%, fatty acids - 13.82-17.49%, triacylglycerides - 8.34-11.86%, cholesterol esters - 23.47-28.11%, high severity degree of atopic dermatitis is diagnosed in children.

EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
