FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves removing defects, Without opening the anterior chamber of the eye, through two pierces in the cornea on both sides of the long axis of the defect by means of atraumatic curved needle having 12-15 mm length and polymer thread of 10.0. When entering the anterior chamber, the needle is conducted through defect boundary and moved out through the cornea. Micro-hook is brought through the first pierce into the anterior chamber. The second end of the thread is taken out to make a loop and bring the first thread end two times through it. A knot is tightened by pulling the incoming and outgoing thread from the anterior chamber. The procedure is repeated once more and the thread ends are cut off. EFFECT: smaller number of manipulations; simplified operation; reduced risk of traumatic complications. 3 cl, 4 dwg
