SUBSTANCE: invention describes a new nonhygroscopic form of azithromycin and a method for its preparing. Method involves gradual crystallization of azithromycin from ethanol in addition of minimal amount of water to form crystals. Also, invention discloses pharmaceutical compositions comprising this new form of azithromycin. Azithromycin ethanolate elicits less hygroscopicity as compared with azithromycin monohydrate.
EFFECT: improved preparing process, improved and valuable properties of product.
