DIESEL ENGINE FUEL PUMP TESTER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in testing of diesel engine fuel equipment, for diagnosing condition of high-pressure fuel-injection pumps, engines and machines furnished with said pumps. Proposed tester of diesel engine fuel pump has housing with pressure gauge, safety device and connecting member. Housing is made in form of nut with threaded hole on one of its faces with formation of cone and left-hand thread on free, end. Safety device is made in form of valve-nut with longitudinal throttling hole and with side hole made on one of its faces with formation of thread on its free end, and screw with needle. Connecting member is made in form of union nut with left-hand thread at one side coinciding with thread on pump housing and with right-hand thread at other side coinciding with thread on pump pressure union. Valve is driven by its nut into side hole of housing, screw is turned into valve nut and space of pressure gauge communicates with atmosphere through space of valve, throttling and side holes in its nut when valve is open or is not in communication with atmosphere, when valve is closed.

EFFECT: simple in designed, reliability and compact tester convening for diagnosing condition of high-pressure fuel-injection pumps.
