FIELD: measuring the volume flow or mass flow of fluid.
SUBSTANCE: device has heat insulated housing (gas duct) which received a heat-sensitive element heated up to 1200oK by current. The gas duct wall is provided with two optical windows for recording the spectral energy of luminance throughout the surface of the heat-sensitive element with the use of two optical converters. To flatten the front of the flow around the heat-sensitive element, a perforated plate (0.3-mm mesh size grid) is mounted at a distance of ~3 diameters from the thermistor.
EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity and reliability.
