FIELD: agricultural engineering.

SUBSTANCE: power of self-propelled working unit is transmitted to motion drive and to at least one auxiliary drive for further transmission to working tools. Self-propelled working unit has at least one measuring device for determining at least one maximal value of power transmitted to auxiliary drive, for generating of control signal in case overloading occurs on auxiliary drive and for sending said signal to power regulator for regulating output power of drive engine. Working unit has at least one measuring device for determining power of motion drive and data processing and controlling device for receiving from said measuring devices of detected value signals as output signals and for generating on the basis of said output signals of control signal and sending said signals to power regulator for regulating of drive engine output power. Data processing and controlling device has memory unit for storing maximal values of admissible power for at least one auxiliary drive and for motion drive, as well as for storing and changing of at least one maximal allowable value of, for example, torque, pressure or flow rate for individual auxiliary drive and motion drive. Data processing and controlling device is adapted for generating of control signal for reducing of power or, accordingly, number of revolutions of drive engine in case maximal allowable value of at least one of auxiliary drives and/or motion drive is surpassed, for increasing output power or, accordingly, number of revolutions of drive engine above nominal value for increasing of output power instead of reduction thereof, and for generating signal allowing drive engine output power to correspond to newly generated allowable maximal power value or to the former value, when limiting criterion is eliminated.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation by providing automatic maintaining of optimal working conditions for drive under different modes of operation.
