TRAILER-TRAIN COUPLER GEAR Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; railless vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: proposed coupler gear of trailer-train had support plate installed on prime mover frame with fifth-wheel device and with coupling mechanism being interconnected with pivot rigidly secured on support sheet of step of semitrailer frame. Pivot is installed for movement in support sheet of semitrailer frame step with possibility of turning relative to its longitudinal axis of symmetry and translational movement relative to longitudinal axis of said frame. Pivot is provided with bellcrank at one side; which carries two spring-loaded tie-rods hinge connected with pin rigidly installed in support sheet of step, and at other side, with gear interacting with toothed bushing rigidly secured on fifth-wheel device of prime mover.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of trailer-train, increased load-carrying capacity, reduced cost of carriage.
