FIELD: carbon materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in manufacture of drugs, diamond films, power sources, and composites. Naturally occurring mineral namely schungite, with ash content 0.5 to 9% is crushed, ground, and sized to give product with dispersity from 2 to 0.005 mcm-1. Product is subjected to heat treatment in vacuum or under protective gas atmosphere within temperature range 100 to 180oC and with temperature raise rate 10 to 60oC/min. Condensed fullerens are stepwise sublimed with temperature jumps 200-400oC between steps. Number of steps may reach 10. When necessary, prior to be used, schungite may be subjected to gravitational and/or chemical concentration.
EFFECT: simplified preparation of starting material, intensified process, and improved quality of fullerene concentrate due to narrowed fractional composition thereof.
