FIELD: multipurpose inorganic materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for preparing novel allotropic oxide forms, in particular vanadium oxide, which can be used as catalysts, power source cathode materials, ion exchangers, and in high-capacity condensers. Method of invention comprises preparation of reaction mixture followed by heating it in autoclave, filtration, washing, and drying of resulting precipitate. Reaction mixture is prepared from vanadium(V) oxide gel and polyvinyl alcohol used in 1:1 molar proportion.

EFFECT: reduced number of stages and nanotube preparation time, and eliminated presence of amines in the product.
