SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for the production of nanoparticles of molybdenum dioxide MoO2, which can be used as a selective catalyst for the oxidation of olefins, an ion-electron converter of solid-phase ion-selective electrodes for determining potassium ions in solution, an effective anode material for lithium current sources, as anode materials for supercapacitors based on water electrolytes, material for photothermal therapy of oncological diseases, gas sensor material for determining the concentration of ethanol and acetone vapors. The method for obtaining nanoparticles of molybdenum dioxide MoO2includes hydrothermal treatment of the initial solution containing a source of molybdenum and tartaric acid, followed by washing and drying, while the initial solution is obtained by adding powder of metallic molybdenum to a 30% hydrogen peroxide solution in a ratio equal to s : l = 1 : (30÷40), followed by the addition of tartaric acid at a molar ratio of molybdenum : tartaric acid = 1 : (1÷2).
EFFECT: simple and technologically advanced method for obtaining molybdenum dioxide MoO2 provides high values of the specific surface area of spherical nanoparticles due to the presence of a mesoporous structure.
