FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used as a photocatalyst, an effective anode material for supercapacitors or sodium current sources, an anode or cathode material for lithium current sources, as well as a solar cell element. A method for producing a molybdenum trioxide/carbon composite of composition MoO3/C involves using an aqueous solution of ammonium heptamolybdate tetrahydrate (NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O as a source of molybdenum, treating with 1 M of citric acid of composition C6H8O7·H2O, introduced in an amount sufficient to establish the pH of the solution 1.5 ≤ pH ≤ 2.5, followed by drying and annealing. Drying is carried out for 1-2 hours at 50 - 60°C. Annealing is carried out in the air for 30 - 60 minutes at 300 - 370°C. MoO3/C composite was obtained in a simple and technological way. Improving the quality of the product is ensured by increasing the free carbon content in it.
EFFECT: increased reactivity as an electrochemically active material.
