FIELD: iron metallurgy, in particular batch composition for briquette from steel and iron cutting.
SUBSTANCE: method for application of steel and iron cutting instead of fresh batch materials in process of melting in cupola furnace and other smelting equipment. Batch consists an iron or steel cutting and carbon containing material. As carbon containing material fine natural schungite, comprising 30-40 % of carbon and 60-70 % of silica mixed with boric acid is used. Claimed batch contains (mass %) schungite 20-30%; boric acid 1-2; and as balance: cutting.
EFFECT: reduced cutting burn-off and reduced briquette cost.
