FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular manufacturing of briquettes for iron-carbon alloy production.
SUBSTANCE: claimed briquette comprises silicium-containing material, carbon-containing material, and binder. As silicium-containing material it contains metallurgical silicium carbide, as carbon-containing material it contains heat treated carbon-containing material from electrode production, and as binder it contains cement.
EFFECT: iron-carbon alloys of increased strength properties; improved casting process.
