CUTTER MODULE FOR MOWER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural and road-building engineering, in particular, equipment for mowing of vegetation from lawns and road shoulders.

SUBSTANCE: cutter module has cutting mechanism and frame. Cutting mechanism has horizontal shaft with drive and cutter pair mounted on shaft. Cutter pair is made in the form of two disks engageable with one another with their cutting surfaces. One disk is made annular and is positioned on shaft for free rotation around its longitudinal axis. Other disk is made continuous and is rigidly fixed on shaft at an acute angle to its axis. Annular disks of adjacent cutter pairs are connected with one another. Upon advancement of mower over surface to be mowed, vegetation is cut owing to difference in angular speeds of rotation of engageable annular and continuous disks.

EFFECT: simplified construction and provision for mowing of vegetation from surface with complicated soil profile.
