FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, strengthening of self-sealing conical threads operating under increased contact loads.
SUBSTANCE: method involves forming heating spot by laser beams on bottom of threaded channel; moving laser beam along generatrix of threaded surface and rotating it relative to longitudinal axis. Apparatus has laser unit comprising optical system, system for rotating of surface to be processed, and device providing mechanical interaction between said systems. Method further involves aligning center of heating spot with mid portion of threaded channel; selecting diameter of heating spot equal to thread pitch; moving laser beam by value equal to thread pitch per one revolution of surface to be processed. Device providing mechanical interaction between system for rotating of surface to be processed and optical system is made in the form of tie-rod, which is spring-loaded relative to casing of optical system. Tie-rod is provided with tip engageable with threaded surface of article.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of threaded connection with conical thread under increased contact loading conditions.
