FIELD: treatment of radioactive objects and analyses of content of radioactive waste packs.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes analysis of isotope content by irradiating object with thermal, epithermal, and fast neutrons obtained from series of first pulses of fast neutrons; in the process signals of instantaneous and moderated neutrons radiated by object upon arrival of each pulse are measured, these signals are accumulated, and Sp fission bonus formed by thermal, epithermal, and fast neutrons is evaluated from this sum of all signals; amount of each isotope is also determined using Sp and Sr, as well as additional information about quantity of isotopes. Device implementing this method has means for irradiating object with mentioned neutrons, neutrons counting means designed for measuring signals of instantaneous and moderated neutrons radiated by object upon arrival of each pulse, and means for processing signals measured in this way.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure, simplified design of device, enlarged functional capabilities.
