COIL HANDLING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: rolling processes and equipment, mainly aggregates for slitting and cross cutting of wide strips.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes vertical shaft mounted in bearing assemblies on housing secured to foundation; rotary bracket for receiving coils rigidly secured to upper end of vertical shaft; unit for knocking out coils having drive hydraulic cylinder mounted on rotary bracket; rigidity bridge arranged under bracket. The last is welded one and it has two beams embracing sleeve with outer hexahedral surface. Said sleeve is fit on upper end of vertical shaft. Beams have in portion for receiving coils horizontal and inclined surfaces to which changeable cover plates are secured. Said over plates are made of anti-friction material whose rigidity is less than that of coil material. Invention prevents damage of inner surface of coils and their out-off-roundness.

EFFECT: less loss of yield in stations for finishing sheets in rolling shops, enhanced efficiency of cutting aggregates, lowered mass and cost, reduced power consumption of apparatus for handling coils.
