FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, in particular accumulator industry.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes deposition of cobalt alpha-hydroxide on surface of nickel monoxide hydrate followed by deposition of cobalt beta-hydroxide by adding alkali reagent in solution containing cobalt salt and complexing agent while controlling magnitude of pH. When cobalt alpha-hydroxide is deposited pH is adjusted up to 9-10.5; and when cobalt beta-hydroxide is deposited pH is adjusted up to 11.5-12.5. As complexing agent water-soluble aminoacids and their salts having instability constant of complex with cobalt of 10-(6-20) are used. Content of complexing agent is maintained at 0.05-0.1 mg/l. Method of present invention makes it possible to produce uniform coating of cobalt hydroxide on surface of particulated nickel monoxide hydrate.
EFFECT: simplified process and coating with improved quality.
