DEVICE FOR MAKING HOLES IN MATERIAL BODY Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: building, particularly for making holes in different materials when performing building-and-assembly jobs and for driving sharp members in various objects.

SUBSTANCE: device has multistage column of guiding barrels arranged coaxially one to another. Front barrel is provided with punch means. Rear barrel is formed as driving barrel. Each barrel located in front of previous one rests by its riffles upon movable spherical supports under the action of pressing springs located between barrels. Spherical supports are balls arranged in radial through grooves of rear barrels. Balls are closed by axially arranged barrels. Barrels include grooves formed from column side. Barrel groove depth is equal or more than ball diameter and width thereof is equal to ball diameter. Barrels and springs have increasing lengths and decreasing diameters in direction from column end part. Distance between riffles and grooves of cooperating barrels is equal or more than one-half of pressing spring length in free state. Punch has riffle made in end part thereof for spherical supports, namely balls. Device has stops to prevent barrels from falling out of multistage column.

EFFECT: increased holes punching efficiency due to stepped increase of punch (sharp member) speed under the action of seriously releasing springs and increased reliability.
