STEAM-TYPE UNCAPPING KNIFE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2242876 C2

FIELD: apiculture, in particular, uncapping equipment.

SUBSTANCE: steam-type uncapping knife has cutting web made in the form of blade defined by two steam pipes extending in parallel with one another. Pipes are provided with drawn-off and sharpened edges, which symmetrically coincide at single point for defining knife cutting edge. Steam supply and discharge pipes are embedded into handle and are extending along the entire length thereof to connect knife blade with handle. Handle axis is offset with respect to blade surface.

EFFECT: improved quality of uncapping, increased efficiency owing to reduced deformation of honeycombs during uncapping and provision for preventing cut cap from adhering to honeycomb during operation of knife.
