FIELD: fire-fighting equipment, particularly for forest fire extinguishing.

SUBSTANCE: method for extinguishing forest fires with the use of explosive materials, heat-sensitive fire-extinguishing powder compositions and gas-dispersed fire-extinguishing compositions loaded into containers and fire-extinguishing modules involves forming air-blast wave front in crowning fire area by simultaneous dropping means with explosive cartridges or with detonating cord or previously installed containers filled with fire extinguishing mixture detonated by above explosive cartridges or detonating cord; extinguishing ground fires with the use of fire-extinguishing modules dropped from airborne vehicle or previously installed along fire edge which distribute fire extinguishing mixture parallel to plane of their installation or at an angle thereto through nozzles extending in radial direction through 360o with flow velocity of not less than 70 m/s and with intensity of not less than 0.01 kg/s·m2 with prevention of adjacent jets intersection along the full throw length, which results in vacuum formation in this discontinuity area to suck combustion products from upper fire area to above area and to create continuous annular fire-extinguishing zone.

EFFECT: increased reliability of crowning and ground fires extinguishing.
