FIELD: oxidation catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of titanium dioxide-based catalysts efficient in various areas, e.g. for catalytic treatment of air to remove CO or photocatalytic treatment of air and water to remove organics and inorganic compounds. Initial titanium dioxide in the form of powder is first treated with mineral acid solutions and then particles of one or several metals (Pd, Pt, Au, Ag) are deposited. Reverse order of the operations is also possible as well as deposition of metal particles in presence of mineral acids.
EFFECT: essentially increased photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide in acetone oxidation process and also enabled efficient thermal oxidation of carbon monoxide.
