FIELD: metallurgy; methods of monitoring thermal processes in cooled thermal units.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes measurement of temperature difference at inlet and outlet of thermal unit and rate of change of this difference. Magnitudes of temperature difference of inlet and outlet of cooling agent and rate of charge of this difference which correspond to moment of burn-out of thermal unit are measured preliminarily. Burn-out of wall of thermal unit is recorded at simultaneous excess of predetermined allowable magnitudes of inlet and outlet temperatures of cooling agent.

EFFECT: early and correct detection of burn-out.
