FIELD: electrical engineering and electrophysics, in particular, electromagnetic starting installations, applicable in experimental physics and accelerating equipment for acceleration of plasma and macrobodies to hyperspeeds.
SUBSTANCE: the coaxial accelerator consists of a conducting channel, central electrode and a fusible conducting crosspiece, positioned inside the channel together with the propelled body, and electrically connects the beginning of the channel and the central electrode. The beginning of the solenoid is electrically connected to the body. The area of location of the fusible crosspiece is filled with a hydrogensaturated agent, in which powdered boron (at least 5·10-3 h/C of the charge) is uniformly distributed.
EFFECT: reduced electrical erosion of the accelerating channel and enhanced velocity at the barrel end.
