FIELD: medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device has illuminating unit having bodyless light-emitting diode 1 rigidly fixed on two film electrodes 9 coating optically transparent substrate 8. The device also has objectives 2 and 5, inlet objective 3, ChCD-camera 4 and computer 6. Light-absorbing screens 10 cover optical element surface for removing flashes and increasing image contrast. Light from light-emitting diode 1 illuminates eye fundus 7 and the light reflected from optical surfaces of optical elements (flashes) is concentrated on light-absorbing screens 10.

EFFECT: reduced illumination intensity of eye fundus, parasitic flashes level; higher image contrast.
