FIELD: agricultural engineering.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has sensor unit fixed on cutter bar of farm machine by means of carrier tine, and device for independent orienting of sensor unit to reference point or reference line and for remote controlled displacement of sensor unit in horizontal and/or vertical plane followed with adjustment operation. Method involves providing indication of actual position or orientation of sensor unit relative to field tillage edge by means of two-dimensional indication field. Indication device is furnished with identification mark adapted for identification of adjusted position and dependent upon position of farm machine relative to field tillage edge.
EFFECT: simplified determination and setting of predetermined adjustment position of sensor unit.
