FIELD: checking devices for mounting rollers in shape knurling machine tools.

SUBSTANCE: gage device includes housing corresponding to profile of knurled part and having two parts mounted with possibility of axial motion and mutually coupled through elastic member; apparatus for measuring axial motion joined with different portions of housing. For small-diameter shapes housing has opening arranged along its axis and having inside elastic member secured to it. Compression-tension spring may be used as said elastic member; or elastic member may be made of elastic material such as polyurethane in accordance with contour of opening and it may be joined with it. Rigid centering members made according to contour of opening and secured to one part of housing may be arranged in opening of housing. Apparatus for measuring axial motion may be in the form of axial motion pickup placed in opening and having portions secured to different portions of housing and shifted in axial direction. Said pickup is connected with control and display unit.

EFFECT: simplified design of gage device for small-diameter shapes.
