FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, possibly determination of parameters of self-fired anode of aluminum cell with upper current supply.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for measuring distance from base of self-fired anode of aluminum cell with upper current supply until upper part of anode casing includes Г-shaped lower elbow. Apparatus also includes vertical bar that may be secured to said lower elbow, spring-loaded measuring rod mounted with possibility of fixation in upper part of said bar; and level gage for controlling vertical position of bar. Г-shaped lower elbow is removable one and it is mounted on bar by means of locking member. Method of determining distance comprises steps of measuring distance from upper part of anode casing until upper cut of steel portion of current supply clamp and distance from anode base until upper part of anode casing. Distance from anode base until upper part of anode casing is measured directly with use of apparatus of invention; target distance is calculated with use of given formula.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurements.
