METHOD FOR MAKING HEMISPHERICAL ENVELOPES OF METALS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2247002 C2

FIELD: plastic working of metals, possibly manufacture of hemispherical parts of fragments.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing designed number of fragment blanks of hemispherical envelope from chemically active metal of lanthanides group in vessel with inert atmosphere; deforming blanks for forming segments during multistage heat-compression treatment in inert atmosphere and seasoning at each stage for designed time period; successively heating segments in sealed pressing chamber up to initial temperature 180 - 250°C at pressure no less than 300 MPa; cooling segments and providing pressure relief; then heating blanks up to temperature 280-320°C at pressure no less than 300Mpa and going on heating process up to temperature 350-450°C; then alternatively joining segments in condition of local heating by means of laser beam acting upon edges of blanks; mechanically working envelope; pneumatically spraying on inner and outer surfaces of envelope coating on base of organic polymeric material with thickness no less than 100 -120 micrometers.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of hemispherical envelopes of chemically active refractory metals.
