FIELD: welding processes and equipment, namely methods and apparatuses providing igniting and stable burning of electric arc.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of supplying from AC source voltage equal to burning voltage of electric arc; adding it with initial voltage until value respective to electric arc igniting voltage; then reducing initial voltage until voltage of stable burning of arc. Value of initial voltage is reduced at time moment of arc igniting until value of arc burning voltage by means of reactive member connected in series with additional AC voltage source and connection point of two connected in series diodes connected with outlet of bridge type rectifier. Said voltage source is in the form of power transformer whose secondary winding is connected with inlet of diode bridge rectifier. Additional AC voltage source is in the form of additional transformer. First outlets of secondary windings of power transformer are connected in common point. Outlet of diode bridge-type rectifier is connected with two connected in series diodes for forming together with one pair of its diode bridge type rectifier whose outlet voltage is igniting voltage. Connection point of two connected in series diodes is connected with second outlet of secondary winding of additional transformer. Primary winding of said transformer is connected in parallel to primary winding of power transformer. One outlet of primary of additional transformer is connected directly and its other outlet is connected through reactive member with outlet of primary winding of power transformer.
EFFECT: enhanced stability of electric arc igniting and burning, lowered electric energy loss.
