FIELD: means of individual protection of a person against assault with the use of a revolver, submachine gun, knife or pricker.

SUBSTANCE: the protective vest has the front and rear part and means for their coupling, the front part has at least one upper armored protective component for protection of the region of the thorax of the vest user, and at least one lower armored component for protection of the abdominal cavity. The rear part has an elongated central armored component passing along the user's vertebral column, and at least two laminar side armored protective components attached on each side of the central component, the armored protective component are arranged with partial overlapping and for slipping on one another.

EFFECT: provided protection against injury by a light weapon, at a long wearing the user can not only bend forward, but turn and bend aside; enhanced reliability and convenience in use.
