FIELD: construction engineering; erection and operation of pipe lines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes estimation of pipe line position, separation of section of pipe line to be examined and determination of trajectory of surface drying water course. Zone of intersection of surface drying water course with main-type pipe line is recorded and magnitude of angle <<α>> of intersection of trajectory of surface drying water course with axis of main-type pipe line is determined. In case angle <<α>> is within 15≤α≤165 deg., zone of intersection of surface drying water course with main-type pipe line is assumed to be the section of main-type pipe line liable to corrosion cracking under stress.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of pipe line.
