FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: when detecting pipe sections prone to internal corrosion, current coordinates are recorded using an electrometric method, using secret communication probes like track finders, for example thereby determining the actual position of the pipe. Current coordinates and depth of the pipes under the ground surface are recorded. The altitude of the pipe relative a chosen check point is determined using geodesic methods. The measurement results and current coordinates are recorded, and the measurement results are subsequently processed using a special computer program, and the profile of the pipe is produced in graphic form, fixing local minimum and maximum values of altitude of the pipe and their coordinates with fixing to picketage of the pipe. Boring is done on pipe sections with local minimum and/or maximum values of altitude of the pipe depending on the transported product. Detailed defectoscopy is done using non-destructive inspection techniques, for example visual-measurement and ultrasonic or magnetic techniques, detecting thinning of walls based on the conducted tests. Taking into consideration that, the most corrosion-hazardous places have been selected, it can be decided whether there is need for preventive and maintenance and repair work and the possibility of continued use of the entire pipe with determination of its remaining life.
EFFECT: efficient, simple method of detecting pipe sections most prone to corrosion with subsequent diagnosis of the technical state of the pipe.
