FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes measurement of characteristic parameters in discrete sections and determination of SCC risk level parameter. The value of mechanical stresses of pipes metal, ground pH is used as characteristic parameters, the value of protective potential, service life, periodic moistening and insulation quality. The SCC risk level parameter is determined for each point under analysis, and the coordinates of the dangerous points are determined, the risk level where the value is higher than the threshold. The integral index of the risk level is calculated for the area and the SCC risk rank which connects the integral risk factor with the gas line operation time in the area under consideration.
EFFECT: reduced failure rate for main gas pipelines, optimized operation and repair works.
