FIELD: measurement technology; determination of level of heat-transfer agent in power plant passages.

SUBSTANCE: proposed acoustic level sensor includes pulse generator connected to radiating piezo element, waveguide, sensitive element and secondary equipment which includes acoustic signal converter, analog-to-digital converter and personal computer. Sensitive element is connected to waveguide and terminates in two sections having length l; they are located at angle π/2 relative to direction of gravity force in plane located at angle α relative to direction of gravity force. Angle α is within 0 ≤ α ≤ π/2.

EFFECT: increased resolving power of sensor.
