FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with irradiating urine, crude milk or cow's mammary gland with visible light rays and/or near infrared ones in the range of 400-2500 nm, detecting the intensity of transmitting, reflected or transmitting and reflected light rays followed by performing a multi-element analysis. The presence or absence of mastitis should be detected based upon the ranges of the mentioned light rays. Device consists of a generator of light rays, optic system, a detector and a processor to process the data obtained. The suggested method and device enable to quickly and accurately predict mastitis in cows.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of prediction.
