FIELD: fiber optics; fiber communication lines.

SUBSTANCE: light guide has light-guiding conductor, reflecting envelope with reduced refractivity in relation to refractivity of pure quartz glass, two loading rods, protective envelope made of pure quartz glass and protective-strengthening polymeric coating. Additional quartz envelope is formed and placed between polymeric protective-strengthening coating and protective envelope or inside the last one. Protective envelope can have impurities which dissipate or (and) absorb optical radiation. Due to introduction of additional quartz envelope having specific properties and optimal selection of parameters of design, the transparence window of polarizing light guide can be widened.

EFFECT: reduced losses of conducted polarization mode; increased polarization extinction factor.
