SUBSTANCE: method includes making source body with reflecting cover having decreased refraction coefficient relatively to refraction coefficient of light-guiding thread and external protective quartz cover, cutting N grooves on external surface of body along whole length of grooves with same width and depth, positioning this body inside the bearing quartz pipe and melting it together with the latter, preliminary etching of apertures, formed by grooves, pulling received block to block of lesser diameter, repeated etching of apertures, positioning quartz rods into apertures and pulling a light-guide out of received block with application of protective and reinforcing cover thereto.
EFFECT: decreased power level of upper modes, channeled by light-conducting thread of polarizing W-light guide with large size of diameter of fundamental mode spot.
