FIELD: pulse engineering; high-voltage sub-microsecond pulse generators.
SUBSTANCE: proposed high-voltage pulse generator has pair of rectilinear conducting bands of which one is grounded and other can be connected to dc power supply, as well as pair of rectilinear insulating bands, first and second ones, all bands being alternately placed one on top of other as follows to form pile: ground conducting band, first insulating band, conducting band that can be connected to dc power supply, and second insulating band; pile of bands is arranged in helicoid that has at least two turns so that pair of strip lines is obtained; both ends of each line are open but one of lines has controlled discharge installed at one of its ends or in center; novelty is introduction of additional rectilinear ground conducting band applied to second insulating band at end of mentioned series, and pile of bands obtained in the process is arranged in helicoid by bending entire pile so as to provide for integer number of bends per helicoid turn.
EFFECT: enhanced generator efficiency due to its manufacture from single lengths of conducting and insulating bands shaped as helicoid.
