FIELD: generation of electromagnetic and nanosecond impulses.
SUBSTANCE: generator of nanosecond impulses includes bipolar source of discharge voltage, to which a generating line is connected, one conductor of which is under zero potential and is connected to common bus and to load. Another conductor is made with gaps, in high voltage form and is connected to load through discharger. Lengths of high voltage conductor are connected to supply in such a way, that potential sign of lengths alternates between positive and negative along whole generating line. Ends of positively charged lengths of high voltage conductor of generating line are connected to one electrode of discharger, and ends of negatively charged lengths are connected to the other electrode. An additional discharger is coupled between discharger and load, which ensures appearance of potential on electrode connected to load, when activated. Electrodes of additional discharger are made in different shapes: plane - cone.
EFFECT: generation of a train of high power bipolar impulses with certain spectral composition.
