FIELD: applying coats to surfaces; mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes microarc oxidation of articles made from magnesium, aluminum, titanium, zirconium, niobium, tantalum and their alloys in alkali or acid electrolytes forming coats on base of ceramic, polymer, metal, vitreous, cermet, ceramic-polymer, ceramic vitreous powder particles smoothly moved in electrolyte solution near surface of articles to be coated; their melting point does not exceed temperature of microarc discharge; size of particles shall not exceed 5 mcm and their mass fraction shall be within 0.5-5% of electrolyte mass.
EFFECT: extended field of application.
