FIELD: armor constructions primarily means of individual defense from cold steel, bullets and fragmentations; sheet armor is recommended for using as material for body armor.
SUBSTANCE: sheet armor has a great number of solid-state elements fulfilled in the form of spiral springs located in row and connected with each other. At least part of springs is made with variable diameter and/or with coils' step, namely conical. Conical springs may be located so that increase of coils' diameter of each follow-on spring coincides with decrease of coils' diameter of the previous spring. Springs are placed in a mould forming a composite construction. Springs and mould are made in proportionate modules of elasticity in the same directions of deformation. Mould may be made of aluminum or aluminum alloy, fully or partly filling the internal volume of the composite construction. Additionally armor has layers of aramid fibers connected with flexible ties for example quilted with a thread.
EFFECT: increases defensive capabilities including impact resistance.
