FIELD: electrical engineering; submersible pumps used in oil industry for oil extraction.

SUBSTANCE: proposed cable box designed for stuffing cable entries in submersible electric motors driving submersible oil-extraction centrifugal pumps has case secured at cable end and provided with through hole accommodating leads of insulated cable conductors and tandem-arranged hold-down washer, first intermediate washer, second intermediate washer, and thrust washer. Holes in first intermediate washer passing cable conductor leads have edges carrying annular stuffing member and outer cylindrical surface of first intermediate washer has annular recess receiving annular stuffing member. Second intermediate washer is provided with holes passing cable conductor leads, part of each conductor disposed in respective hole being covered with lead sheath and annular stuffing member being placed between other part of conductor and inner surface of hole. Each of mentioned holes has edge carrying annular stuffing member. Such stuffing arrangement provides for eliminating ingress of liquid into box through current-carrying cable conductors and to outer surface of extension cable conductors at the same time excluding damage to conductor insulation in case of uncontrolled compression of stuffing member in the course of box assembly and repairs.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of cable entry stuffing box.
