FIELD: electrical engineering, power supplies for submersible motors used in oil extraction.
SUBSTANCE: proposed extension cable has body secured at cable end that accommodates thrust washer held tight against thrust member of box body, safety washer, seal fitted between washers, external nut, locking washer, and seal within box body. Cable conductors are fitted in holes provided in washers; conductor strands are connected to cable lugs. Supporting members, such as nuts disposed between strand insulation and safety washer, are installed within box between cable conductor washers for holding cable conductors in position. As an alternative, cable conductors are held in position within box by means of screw bushings driven into safety washer holes in body, their inner surfaces mating cable conductor strands also by means of threaded joint. Ends of screws on cable conductor insulation end may have pointed annular projection for wedging insulating sheath of cable strands. Cable conductors are reliably locked in safety washer by means of supporting nuts or screw bushings.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of cable box due to locking cable strands within box body.
